A Practice Run...

I know there have been a couple posts now about this trailer business and you're all probably pretty sick of hearing about it, but don't you want to see pictures!??!?!? Well here she is, ladies and gents! Rocinante! Drum roll please. dgdgdgdgdgdgdgggdgdgdgdgddgdg..........

And here we are chillin inside the old bird. (FYI: if Pern says it's okay to sleep in there, don't believe him. There are so many mouse turds in there!)

She's a 1963 Serro Scotty "Goucho." Beautiful, isn't she? She's going to be our little fixer upper project out in Portland. It was quite a trip to go get her. Pern and I drove up past Ithaca to drag the little camper out of a small auction house that was full of similar looking rigs. Rocinante was the smallest of the bunch, and after a little tinkering she was safely attached to Pern's Forester. We kept the cruise control at a cool 55 the whole way to Big Dom's house for fear or losing the driver's side trailer tire and by the time we rolled in at 3:30am we had spent about 17 hours in the car.

Now we are back in Brooklyn...well, I'm back in Brooklyn. Pern had to jump right back in the car the next day and drive back down to PA to take care of Rocinante's crappy tires. Poor guy's gonna be sleepy for his last two weeks in the city!

I think the most important note to make about Pern's new ride is that once it's fixed up, it's going to be a lovely little Pacific Northwest guesthouse for all of you who are planning to come visit! And don't worry about the mouse turds...i'm sure they will be vacuumed up by then.

Peace out cub scouts,

Jared

  1. it's ok to sleep in there if you're not a totally sally and afraid of mouse turds... plus they'll all be vacuumed up soon enough
